"You're on their side, aren't you?"

Tomorrow, a movie I've been waiting to come out for two years is finally hitting theaters: It's called FUNNY GAMES, and it's been remade by Michael Haneke, an Austrian dude who made the original German version in 1997 and who also happens to be one of the most terrifyingly suspenseful directors in the world. I cannot wait for people to see this, mostly because we in America don't usually get the good fortune of having such an original & shocking film backed with millions of studio dollars. You will be hearing about it for years, so go catch it while it's fresh and on a big screen. You'll be frozen in your seat for the entire running time.

Here's a clip of one of the film's stars Naomi Watts talking about FUNNY GAMES on Jimmy Kimmel live two nights ago:

Speaking of anticipation, I had been counting down the days, then hours until the new season of South Park premiered last night. I thought it was good, not great. My favorite line was after Cartman found out he had AIDS (if you didn't see the episode, Cartman gets AIDS), and he's at the benefit dinner and starts complaining about Jimmy Buffett performing. He goes back and forth yelling with his mom, and he finally says "FUCK YOU MOM...I have AIDS!"

I guess blogs come in three's, brah. Here are two other newly established blogs that are sure to be awesome and worth keeping an eye on:
Blueprints, etc. - Eric Bruenner's dizzying notepad of genius ideas ranging from anything to everything.
Gabe's Ireland Travelogue - Gabe D'Amico's space used for "a travelogue/idea sharing/general fun zone" during his four month long stay in Ireland.

Finally, if you've been following the Democratic race for the White House, Keith Oberman last night on 'Countdown' summed up pretty brilliantly these past few weeks of the unsettling Clinton campaign tactics to marginalize Barack Obama, primarily this Geraldine Ferraro craziness.

Goodnight & Good Luck, indeed.

BackBurner Vids

I recently posted these three videos we shot in late 2005 up on youtube, and it's been fun seeing what people think of them nearly three years after filming. A lot of times, things I film will sit for a while after weeks of a heavy editing and I won't come back to them for months. For one reason or another, I wasn't exactly sure how to finish these off. Finally, last week I decided enough time had passed where I could let them just be what they were and I threw em up. I realized what was most important was having the videos available online to look back on what we were trying to do creatively at the time, and most of all, remember the fun we had while making it. In light of this revelation, I'm going to try and upload a butt-load of movies I've made from years past: All City On Film stuff dating to back 2004 when I first got my big camera, movies I made for school projects, and even back to the in-camera edit days of the Sony CamCorder. I'm also going to be blogging a lot more, so check back on this guy for updates or check the youtube directly (www.youtube.com/imonpublicaccess) for new uploads. It should be fun.

ROBBERS!
(2005) Two burglars enter a house with hopes of snagging some serious loot. Unfortunately, all they find (save for a buzz-saw) are two other robbers who've zeroed in on the same house. Can the two groups learn to co-burgle?

RECORDING
(2005) Recording the perfect song involves some creative experimentation.

THE TALK
(2005) A kid's suspicion that his Dad has found his bag of weed turns out to be his father's search for existential relevance.
